What is minimally invasive treatment?
Minimally invasive treatment - sometimes described as “pinhole” treatment - uses imaging such as X-ray or ultrasound to guide thin instruments through a small puncture in the skin, rather than a large incision.
Many procedures are day-case admissions; some, including uterine artery embolisation, usually require one overnight stay for pain management. The expected stay for your procedure is discussed at consultation.
Whether this kind of treatment is suitable for you depends on your diagnosis, your overall health, and a joint decision between Dr El Farargy and the wider clinical team involved in your care.
